thanks all for replies. i'm sorry for any sensitivity on legality, i
don't think the issue is a legal problem. and it is ultimately not
meant to scrape other people's web sites. i can get (and have) maps
API key, and i can use ajax and other local search and geocoding apis.
yes, of course.

my problem is due to a mashup and an application i'm trying to create
whereby i'm cornered into a number of technologies and too much JS and
the maps async loading and security issues (frames), and such, make it
more difficult (not impossible) for me to get coordinates and map from
a local search. again, my problem is not how to do that in general,
but trying a shortcut to get something fast.

the statics map urls helped me a ton to quickly get close to the goal
- displaying map from search w/ coorindates on the page very simply,
and fast. but, i don't think (don't know if) the static map method
provides decimal coordinates anywhere, (like other api latlng calls
would.)

since i saw the parameters on the static map urls, i was intrigued
that if i could convert them, i could display them and be good to go.
so it was meant to be a simple question, really:

is there a way to know how these format of coordinates could be
converted back to normal coordinates?

latitude_e6=51472608
longitude_e6=4294519238

i think it is a mathematical / geospatial / conversion method question
moreso than an API question. sorry if any confusion on that point.
