The API runs in javascript, I understand the usual thing is to use some kind of webbrowser control (that supports scripting) to view your own webpage. You could search this group for use with C++ I don't suppose it'll be much different. You haven't described the kind of thing you want to do, but you might find the Static Maps methods useful.
