Hi all,

I have a client who requires the ability to log an address and
identify service locations that are closest to that address. They
currently have a desktop application that is able to identify the Long/
Lat of every customer address they enter as well as the Long/Lat's of
every service location in their system.

The issue is that the current software does not provide a function to
identify the closest service location by road using this Long/Lat
information. It appears that we could use Google Maps to do this by
supplying it the Long/Lat's that the current software obtains but is
it legal to use Google Maps to do this? It is not anticipated that the
client would exceed the transaction limits but are there any other
restricitions? Can Google return the distance ONLY to the desktop
application without having to display the Google Map?

Also, is it legal to charge the client for development of the desktop
application that 'talks' to Google Maps? We would not be charging for
access to Google Maps, only for the development of the code to access
Google Maps.

Any help is appreciated.

Manda
