It looks like it's just you. If there were a problem with maps.google.com, I would have expected someone to have mentioned it on http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Maps/
Also, the last code change was on 8 May, which doesn't match when your problem occurred. Have you changed anything in your IE environment? Add-ons? Automatic updates?
