Hi,

I'm seeing a Javascript error triangle on loading my page, referring
to an unterminated string constant on line 7, char 13885. This only
occurs in IE7, not in Firefox. I'm pretty sure that it didn't occur
in IE6 but have no way of proving this now. I've attempted to locate
the source of the problem using Firebug in Firefox and the Script
Debugger in IE, along with the usual techniques of adding alerts to
trace program flow, changing IE advanced options, etc. but all to no
avail.

My actual page is on a secured intranet site, so I can't post a link
to it, but thankfully (?) one of Mike's tutorial pages exhibits
exactly the same behaviour, so here it is:

       http://econym.org.uk/gmap/example_geo.htm

The fact that this occurs beyond my own webpage suggests to me that
the error is actually in the GoogleMaps API code and that Firefox
merely handles it whereas IE7 chokes on it. This renders the page
unusable in IE7 and (alas) I have to provide a page which behaves
properly in both browsers.

Can anyone suggest a solution/workaround or is it time to contact the
API developers?

Many thanks in advance for all suggestions,

Pat
