Develop the map starting from a blank page. Keep the script on the page. Use dummy data in a xml file or DB table. Upload the page to a temporary directory. If you need help it's easy to post a link. When the map works and is complete then integrate to the website. If it doesn't work after integrating then you know it's an issue with something else affecting the map.
