Hi!

I'm a php developer, currently writing a small addon for a community
framework. the main purpose of the script is to let users post stuff
they want to sell or buy. it's a marketplace (but without handling the
sell process like ebay - it's just a pin wall where they can post
offers or requests).

users also add a zip code and country to there posts. this data will
be geocoded and displayed on a map, to see what entries are in your
area.

I read the API terms of use and searched the groups but could not find
a description of my problem. I'm planning to sell the php script to
customers (just the plain source code - i won't provide a hosting
service or similar).

All i found are examples for commercial websites - but that would not
be my "problem" if a customer uses it on a commercial website. I'm
just interested if I'm allowed to sell this script which will be used
on the customers website. they have to get their own api key.

can i go with the google maps api in the script or do i have to think
of a different method?

i found this post in the group:
http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Maps-API/browse_thread/thread/4d4f52aa8a6aac3e/6d0b352d4dbdfb1c?hl=de&lnk=gst&q=commercial#6d0b352d4dbdfb1c
which covers a similar problem but I'm not sure what to understand on
"api for the api".

the script itself just uses the users zip code and country to display
the position of the entry.

would be very thankful if you could give me a hint.

best wishes,
andreas
