No.  It is because if you just type "reading" GDirections guesses
reading, PA
http://www.geocodezip.com/example_geo2.asp?addr1=reading&addr2=london&geocode=1&geocode=2
and is unable to generate driving directions from Reading, PA in the
US to London in the UK.

If you use "reading, UK", it works:
http://www.geocodezip.com/example_geo2.asp?addr1=reading,%20UK&addr2=london&geocode=1&geocode=2
