When I bring up the Maps Ad Unit Examples Acme Mapper or ZipMaps, I
see no ads when I center on, for example, San Francisco. (http://
googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.com/2009/05/earn-revenue-from-your-mashup-
with-maps_20.html).

When I bring up "View example (adsmanager-adunit.html)",
http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/examples/adsmanager-adunit.html,
in the Maps API doc, "Advertising Using the Maps Ad Unit", I see a map
with no controls, no ads, and no place to type. (I don't expect a
place to type with the Ad Unit.)

I do see that the example of "Advertising in the GoogleBar" does have
a search text-entry field that brings up ads. It seems that, in this
viewport of LAX, not every ad could be displayed easily, because with
the GoogleBar searching just for "Pizza" returns four screens of
results.

The Maps API says "Displaying ads in a panel on the map based on a
viewer's viewport requires that your AdSense account be enabled for
AdSense for Content."

I assume the deal here is that advertisers that have arrangements with
Google are displayed if they lie in the viewport.

If someone would be so kind as to advise what I'm not understanding,
I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Also, does it say somewhere what the payout might be?

Firefox 3.0.1/Vista.
