if I understood you correctly, everything what works using V2 will
work with V3, so no conflicts. And if I get it, V2 is still
developing, so.. if V3 supports sprites natively, why is V2 not
enhanced with it the same way?

thanks for example, Marcelo. I aslo thought about such an
implementation (to write my own overlay), but than I have to make it
draggable etc. (full featured GMarker),.. so except for inheritance
and overriding I have to start with white paper :)
