I don't imagine that Google ever responds to such complaints, however 
some of the map providers tend to be guided by official government name 
lists where available.

For example, English names for locations conform to those in the 
official repository of standard spellings of all foreign place names 
sanctioned by the US Board on Geographic Names.

In some cases there are different versions of the map when using the 
local maps.goole.[countrycode] rather than maps.google.com.
