Yes, that clearly demonstrates the problem I'm facing, but unfortunately 
the solution demonstrated in the example won't work for me since I'm 
trying to click on existing GPolylines and since in IE8 the third 
argument (overlayLatLng) is never passed, I get the last "mousemove" 
recorded position instead that is always outside the polyline (because 
when overing an overlay, the "mousemove" registrered on the map object 
is not triggered).

So, back to square one, unfortunately.  Any more clues ?
