Perhaps you should re-examine what you've been asked to do. World- wide or even nationwide route directions is a huge task and requires a specialist database; it's a competitive commercial business and the data and code are jealously gaurded. I can't imagine that would be considered a school project, nor that they asked you to go copy someone else's code or images. Discuss with your teacher - show him this discussion if it helps - you may be on the wrong track here.
