I would suggest that you geocode the points off line and include the
latitude and longitude of the points in the xml.  Geocoding more than
a few points each time the page loads runs the risk of running into
the "Geocoding speed limit".

The problem you are having is that you have not obtained function
closure on your markers.  Have you seen Mike Williams' tutorial?
