Hi Matt, Yep - as Andrew said. The issue is the good old Royal Mail. The UK is one of the few countries in the world where accurate postcode data is not in the public domain. Therefore, when you do a geocode using the Google Maps API you can only get sector level accuracy - eg. LE2 1.
