Maybe I misunderstood your original request. You are right - the reverse geocode will still only return the address with the last 2 digits of the postcode missing. That's life and we have to live with it as I expect Royal Mail want billions of pounds to licence this data out to Google for the world to use! Not that I hate Royal Mail, but if there's one more strike I shall leave this cold and miserable country forever!
BUT, what it will do is return an accurate lat and long for you. My mistake - I just assumed that was the bit what you wanted - so at least you'll be able to accurately mark the postcode on the map.
