I would agree that v2.x behaves differently. With that example, even stepping through the code I can't see the infoWindow at all. At least your page does open the infoWindow before it's hidden. 2.x is the "bleeding edge of technology" and not recommended for live sites, but it is rather intriguing that this infoWindow functionality has passed Google's internal alpha-testing. I would like to suggest raising an issue at http://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/list but there are now so many which haven't yet been looked at, that there may not be a great deal of point. This problem appears to be rather a showstopper. Perhaps Pamela or Dann will see this thread and comment?
