Have a look at http://econym.org.uk/gmap/basic16.htm You'll need to add some property or other to your list of marker data ; either a name like 'yellow' or even a URL for the icon image you want to use. You might want to build a set of GIcons to select from, before creating the markers. You need to pass that info to your createMarker() function when you call it, in addition to the other data you pass now. Within createMarker(), you need to use the data to select the right GIcon to use in the GMarker creation.
