Geocoding while adding zip codes to the query sometimes leads to
results that look a bit strange. Take the following example:

"79761 Waldshut-Tiengen, Deutschland" takes you to

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=de&geocode=&q=79761+Waldshut-Tiengen,+Deutschland&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=39.047881,90.263672&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=79761+Waldshut-Tiengen,+Waldshut,+Baden-W%C3%BCrttemberg,+Deutschland&z=12

that is somwhere in the middle of nowhere near the right town, but
definitely not the centre of that town (that is what a user would like
to address with this query).

"Waldshut-Tiengen, Deutschland" takes you to the right spot

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=de&geocode=&q=Waldshut-Tiengen,+Deutschland&sll=47.653326,8.272127&sspn=0.129972,0.352592&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Waldshut-Tiengen,+Waldshut,+Baden-W%C3%BCrttemberg,+Deutschland&ll=47.623752,8.21434&spn=0.130046,0.352592&z=12

One could say now, hey, just omit the zip! But that is generally not a
good idea, as a lot of towns have similar names in good old germany
and you will definitely get the wrong one. There are for instance 57
(!) Towns by the name of "Hausen" wich is something like "Springfield"
in the US without the connotation of beeing a jolly town with funny
people.

So what I do now ist to query first the town with zip, than make a
proximity search without zip to get to the center of the town that I
would like to find.

Q: Does anyone know of a simple way that I could get the centre of the
town that I look for while still adding the zip to be sure that i get
the town that I mean?
