As the configuration/changes they can do in their web sites is (very) limited, hardly (at the moment can't think how) they could misuses the service more than a normal (unregistered) visitor surfing that web site.
V3 is stil in Labs and I'd prefer to stay with V2 for a public project. As the code is already developed I would also avoid porting to V3 ;) I wonder why V3 doesn't need Key. Is it beacuse it's still in Labs or what? Maybe Google is removing the need for Key in V2 too?
