Thank you Rossko for your implication.

This map is not for professional use but for, let say, amateurish site
of my road bike club.
As such, quality and speed is not the priority (but they are for our
own bike !).

the nearly completed page is here:

http://www.labouilladissecyclisme.com/cyclisme/sorties_du_mois/parcours07.htm

I think its more than enough for the intended use.

I will live with it until I find something better.

However, I have look to the <div> on my page and could not find
anything wrong with them which could justify the offset of the menu.

As well for the info windows. The multigeometry is effectively in the
KML and I can't do anything to remove it, as it is generated by Google
Earth with that information embeded in.
So, rather than removing it, I was looking for something to disable
the display of this information and looking at the instruction
available, I have found {descstyle: ... } a string controlling the
style of the info window description field.
I have tried to use it with descstyle:false but did not succeed. I
could not find a string to disable this description.
I have added also iwwidth:50, iwoptions:{maxHeight:20} to the sidebar
options, resulting in the reduction of the information windows, but
nothing really satisfactory.
