We added the geo coding logic to a SalesForce.com server which is shared by many many companies. The best way to describe how it functions is to take a peak at the definition of Multi Tenancy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multitenancy and see if the geo-coding will work in that architecture. Geo Coding happens server side so the request would come from a public IP address shared by many companies. >From all my tests it looks like requests for geo-coding are limited by public IP address that the request came from. Seems silly though..
