It does help on a number of fronts. I suspect it's the use of the word
"deprecated" that makes me - and probably others - very nervous. I
understand that there are a great many sites built on v2, and it would
be suicidal from a PR point of view to eliminate it. However, also
mentioned in the deprecation policy in section 4.4 are a number of
reasons why Google could "cease providing all or any part of the
Deprecated Version of the Service immediately without any notice",
which kinda got our attention. I'll try to ignore it for now, and hope
we stop making v2 Javascript API dependent applications before the
plug is pulled.
