If you're basing this question on your earlier thread at http://groups.google.com/group/google-maps-api/browse_thread/thread/26a14e9cc4a162d0 (which I've just got back to, having been out this evening) then this is a useful place to respond. All I can say is that to write the code and test it -- particularly for the later examples I gave there -- would take considerably longer than to describe it. Speaking for myself I write code either because I find a problem interesting enough to do that or because I'm paid for it. I'll help others debug their own code and point them in the right direction for free, because I enjoy helping others get to know the API and what it can do -- and so that at some point they will be able to pass on their knowledge too. But I don't think this Group should be a Javascript tutorial. It's available to help those who have tried and found difficulty with the Maps API. A certain level of prior knowledge is needed. To use a very imperfect analogy, it's like telling a hausfrau that a trifle is made of three layers: sponge-cake pieces in jelly*, with custard and topped with cream, without having to tell her how to make the sponge, the jelly or the custard because she knows how to do that. I doubt that anyone here would call themselves an expert, even Mike who actually is; and I agree with the other responses. There's a Chinese proverb in my profile that I find is a useful tenet. -- * That's what the Americans call jello, not what we call jam. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
