Google's Gulf Oil Spill map is a better example, however: http://www.google.com/crisisresponse/oilspill/. What I would like to do with the second and third buttons is essentially the same thing: "view by region" and "view by media". Instead of implementing a side panel and scroll bar like on the Gulf Oil Spill map, I want to create two buttons where the regional and media KML files and you can click them on and off individually. The buttons operate exactly like the side panel, but in as a drop-down, clickable, select list button. Very similar to when you click on the "More..." button on normal Google map: http://maps.google.com/. In fact, almost identical. Does this help? Any suggestions?
