Thanks Mike that put me on track to a solution if not an exact reason for the problem - On the basis that IE was waiting for *something* to load in the gallery, the solution was to get it to load the gallery after the rest of the page so that onload could fire and display the map. So I just wrapped the gallery call in a function and called it after onLoad, and that has sorted it out. So thanks for your help in getting out of the murk of IE! ...stu
