Q1: I reckon the answer is no. Where you have quoted "addresses" it
really does mean addresses, not directions. If you use the service you
must display the results, either on a map or the textual directions
(including any footpath warning), so just using the distance and a
link doesn't comply.

You can't even construct a static map of the route and attach it to
the email because Static Maps have to be used in a browser (that is,
with an <img src=...> tag), and an email client like Thunderbird or
Outlook or Pegasus isn't a browser.

Q2: Term 10.3 would appear to say that you can temporarily store
results provided that they are only used in conjunction with a map.
However, since you can't do what you outline in Question 1, the answer
is moot.
