I would actully suggest using My Maps from Google Maps. A open collaboration map, means anyone can edit the map. Or can just share it with your team members.
Desktop Google Maps will automatically sync and pickup the latest version. (And of course can edit the map) Looks like there are applications to view My Maps on the iPhone. I dont know to be sure that there are editors (to edit it on the device) Even if there isnt a editor. It would be possible to make a simple editor using the Google Maps Data API. Google Maps Mobile on Andriod definitly can view My Maps. And there is a My Maps editor app - but it doesnt work on the latest Froyo. Can also save to My Maps from "My Tracks" app. Bonus, is it already works no need for development.
