So the shortest distance between longitude 0 and +180 could go either way around, you might not see what you expect. You might try longitudes -179.99 and 179.99
Frankly it all goes a bit wrong when you try to draw polys bigger than half a globe, because they are not really polys anymore, they are globe shapes themselves.
