What I did: I used John's geocoder at http://maps.huge.info/pinpointaddress.htm because it allows the marker to be dragged to your target and shows its exact location. To get the Streetview location, I used my own page at http://www.acleach.me.uk/gmaps/streetview-infow2.htm together with Firebug: enter the target coordinates and show the Streetview, then use Firebug to show the value of SVD.location.latlng -- this is the latlng the Streetview is based on. Then I plugged these into the calculations at http://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/latlong.html -- the Streetview location goes into the first two boxes and the target location in the two immediately underneath. That page will also helpfully draw a map with a line between the two points. I then went back to my page and rotated the Streetview so the bearing matched that given by the calculations. The results aren't perfect but do show the right building -- and have the advantage that the calculation can be automated, so that the Streetview can show the view of your target from wherever the camera position happens to be. The Streetview camera position may well change as Streetview is updated. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API V2" group.
