The geocoders are different and can produce differenct results. But the API geocoder does find that address -- even though it's "Viale" on the map, not "Via". Or at least, I assume it finds it: it's shown as on the seafront. So: it's not the geocoder, which works. It must be a problem with your implementation, which we can't help with.
