Maybe Static Map is the wrong term. I don't have the HTML in front of me unfortunately.
What I have is a Google Map embed in my web page. The URL points to google maps with a &q= parameter that provides a URL to a KML file resident on the Internet. When the map displays it show a Google Map along with a KML overlay. The GM window has zoom, navigation, and type controls.
