Hey guys,
We are planning to build a browser based open source RF Planner which
will incorporate WiMAX, GSM, Wifi wireless solutions. Our aim is to
use an open source tool like Google Maps to allow the user the input
the area to be covered (of any size), and have our software calculate
the optimum wireless coverage of that area, be it GSM, WiMAX or any
other technology.
The problem we are facing is how to process the marked out area on the
map (some sort of distance should be returned so that we can calculate
the cell size and placement of towers) and how to overlay towers and
other networking equipment on the output map which will be presented
to the user once the complete RF Planning is carried out.
I'd appreciate any ideas you may have!
Thanks
