Hi Sorry that this seems to be a repeat question.
I have existing V2 maps on several domains. For reasons unrelated to the maps, I need to move some of these to a new domain. Of course I get the usual message: "This web site needs a different Google Maps API key. A new key can be generated at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/v2/introduction.html#Obtaining_Key." The search for the Google site to get a version 2 key was fruitless. 1) Going to the url given in the error message sent me to a page that (of course) said V2 was deprecated but contained a link to the "Developer's Reference". That had this informative sentence section: To create your API key, visit the APIs Console at https://code.google.com/apis/console and log in with your Google Account. Click the *Services* link from the left-hand menu, then activate the *Google Maps API v2* service. Once the service has been activated, your API key is available from the *API Access* page, in the *Simple API Access* section. Maps API applications use the *Key for browser apps*. 2) Following that set of instructions I went tp the Google API Console https://code.google.com/apis/console. 3) The console first asked me to create a *project* which I did. Then in the API Access tab I got a list of items: Client ID: Email address Client Secret: Redirect URLs Javascript origins: I was getting hopeful ... 4) Then following the next instruction from the developer reference, I went back to the the console home page and clicked on *services* and selected *Google Maps v2.* 5) Unfortunately that brings up the v3 page and none of the options mentioned in the reference. In fact both the v2 link and v3 link have the same url address in the link, namely "http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/" Can anyone solve this puzzle for me?
