Does anyone have an idea of how GDraggableObject was implemented in
Maps v2? I ask because it seems the non-map functionality will be
relegated to open source libraries for v3. I'd like to make my own
version of GDraggableObject for v3 (the reason I'm posting to the v3
group) but can't quite figure out how to do it.

I got the same functionality after I determined that the browser will
still track mouse move events at the document level even when the
mouse leaves the browser completely as long as the mouse is down. This
seems to be a function of the selection and highlighting ability of
the browser. Well...At least, for IE. When I cancel the selection by
returning false on the onmousedown and onselectstart events the mouse
movement is still tracked outside of the browser for Firefox and
Chrome, but not IE. Without onselectstart IE will stop tracking mouse
movement outside of the browser when the mouse button is down. And
with onselectstart IE will track the mouse movement outside of the
browser but will select and highlight any portion of the page the
mouse moves over.

I think I'm close! Anybody have any ideas? Any Google employees
willing to offer some wisdom?

Thank you
