Coming home from work, I got on a whim that maybe the map needs to refresh to be able to show the new MarkerImage correctly. Using the same script in my previous post, after I clicked the test button, I panned the map so that it won't show the images. Then I panned it back and PRESTO!!! the MarkerImages showed correctly. Still, I consider this as something on the v3 API that needs working on.
