Thanks the example Pil. My regions do actually display using a query
to the Maps search box like that, just not as a KML layer in the Maps
API.

So far I have tried using a test document with only one region in the
file, and made sure it is contained in a <Document> tag.

Is anyone out there successfully using regions with the KML layer for
v3? Please let me know how! I've spent all week trying to figure out
where I'm going wrong.
