I will make a lean test page with maps to better isolate the problem.

In the past I used gmaps v2 without any problems together with bing
maps (now I regret upgrating to v3 :( )
So it seems, that these are different issues.

It is really strange, that my pages work with Firefox, Opera and even
IE. But not with Chrome & Safari (Webkit). I don't really want to
spend hours & hours to make the Google Webrowser compatible with
Google Maps. This isn't my job. Maybe the folks from Google
intentionally created this bug to prevent a simultan use of bing &
gmaps with their own browser? But as for myself, I will recommend my
users to avoid webkit browsers (if no one from Google cares about this
problem).
