In the case of the link you posted, your map doesn't work because it doesn't get valid XML data from the url it requests ( http://www.dinkypage.com/phpsqlajax_genxml3.php ) That's as much as we can tell you. If you won't let us help you, you will have to help yourself and get a debugger for one of your browsers. You should be aware that you are required to publish your map sooner or later, anyway.
