Hi Water2Oil, I think I know the answer to your problem. In the RFC for XMPP IM there is one stanza where you can set the nickname for the person. I cannot pinpoint the exact place in the RFC but its there. Gimme some time and I might figure it out for you.... in the mean time check out the roster management section of the RFC......
