Hi,

have you found a solution of this issue? We are encountering similar
behavior of our ejabberd server, with a slightly different setup. We
use ejabberd as an s2s proxy (based on the patch found at
http://www.ejabberd.im/s2s_proxy). The symptoms encountered are
described here:
http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Talk-Help-Discussion/browse_thread/thread/e18be143d4ab2624

There are other discussions (for example at
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.network.jabber.devel/29105) on this
topic going on, but none of them has any conclusion what is the
problem.

Interestingly the problem seems to be related to GTalk AND ejabberd,
because both work perfectly with other jabber services. Up to now no
one (as far as I know) has found a solution or could even tell whether
the problem results from GTalk or ejabberd. Sadly we can not hope for
any support from the ejabberd developers because we use a patched
ejabberd. It would be nice to see the information gathered by other
people on this issue.

With best regards

Michael Gruener

> Synopsis of the Issue:
> User logs into our private server and attempts to add a contact with
> @gmail.com in the username. The request makes it through to the Gtalk
> client side without issue. Further messages from our server to Gtalk
> are relayed properly however the @gmail.com user is always shown as
> offline. On the Gtalk side, no message responses or invites make it to
> our server. Any attempted messages results in a 503 error. On the flip
> side, there's no problems sending and receiving messages from users on
> other jabber server (jabber.org / jabber.ru).
