Ok, I tried setting the priority an low number (zero) and to a high number (100) and unfortunately that didn't help. Also, I completely signed out of gMail chat by going to gMail, clicking options and "Sign out of chat". Then I signed out of gMail. I then used XMPP to set my status (which successfully shows up as my status to other people). STILL, though, when I log back into gMail and gMail chat it remembers the last status I physically typed into gMail chat's custom status message textbox. What's interesting is that the status I set through XMPP (no matter what the priority is) always overrides the gMail chat status message (as far as the status that other people see) WHILE I'm logged in via XMPP. Once I log out using XMPP, again--my status message as seen by others reverts back to whatever I previously typed into gMail chat custom status message textbox.
There has GOT to be a way to do this. Does anyone have any other ideas? By the way, I'm using AG-Software's agsXMPP SDK for .NET, which is found here: http://www.ag-software.de/index.php?page=download Thanks!
