Right. This I think is something that isn't mentioned in the FAQ (or at least I don't think it is, I'm sure K3G will correct me if I'm wrong :-)
Your xml file can have all the right meta tags and still be unable to be submitted. This is if you have blank attributes that point to a URL that doesn't exist, such as: <Attribute name="footer.tile_image.url"></Attribute> Mine had that and even 200 submissions through webscarab didn't work. The clue is the error message: http://black-integrated-theme.googlecode.com/files/subtleblack11.xml: Invalid URL to download: Doesn't give much info, does it? Fix that and it works. Word to the wise: don't have blank attributes in your xml. I know it says that in the template, but it's not what everyone reads first... Neonblade - has your theme uploaded yet then? Want to show it us? In response to the whole 'stupid questions' thing, I can only say this: Being in this group for a couple of months has made me realise that people can try really hard and come up against a brick wall. It also let me see some staggeringly lazy attempts to get other people to do the whole job and some people who just haven't read or searched for anything. Knowing there is a FAQ would be good though... The FAQ is a great idea, but it needs to be more obvious - like a sticky, or in a text doc uploaded as a file in the 'Files' section. But only a manager can do that... -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of neonblade Sent: 14 January 2009 22:46 To: Google Themes API Subject: Re: Error message when submitting theme Wow, only a dozen tries? I used "imacros", a plugin for firefox to run the submission as a script. It failed 300 times, even though the Theme can be manually accessed without errors.
