The images get hosted by Google when they appear in the directory. I read it
in the dev guide:

"Once your theme is ready, you can submit it here
<http://www.google.com/ig/skin_submit> . When Google accepts your theme and
includes it in the Themes directory, your images are copied over and hosted
by Google, so you don't need to worry about traffic to your host."

There y'go

Quick question if I may...

When uploading the theme, do all of the pictures and XML file get hosted by
Google, or am I still responsible for hosting them on my site? I ask as I
have discovered that when working on my theme, my Yahoo site gets the
bandwidth exceeded after about 8-10 loads in an hour.

And how do I go about uploading a theme with multiple images that rotate
throughout the day?
