No, I'm afraid that the mouse-over isn't sufficient. That's a good
feature- it makes it easier to see individual words or phrases that
one is confused about- but doesn't even come close to effective
comparison. Humans are visual creatures and it's simple to glance at
a line, then move your eyeballs a few inches over to see that same
line in a different language. Now, one has to count down how many
lines the original text is on, scroll the page if necessary, and count
how many lines the translated text is on. This is extremely
inefficient and makes for a frustrating user experience. Hopefully
I've stressed this enough, but side-by-side translation is one of
*the* most important features in Google Translate. Without it, the
quality of the experience is significantly degraded, but more than
just an annoyance, it is a usage hindrance that prevents the
translator from being used for (in my case) its most important task,
and I seem to get this feeling from the other users on here as well.
I really like this instant translation and the tooltip text, but
without side-by-side translation, the product is next-to-worthless
without significant expenditure of time and effort. Please change
this back.
