I suggest that Google Translate create a new function that allows for the automated translation of texts that are either codeswitching/ multilingual (go back and forth between different languages) or codemixing (are based on one language, but borrow words and phrases from another language). Judging by where Translate is right now in its technological evolution, this new function would be full of errors!!! It would be through the application of technology whose intelligence is based upon an understanding of the grammatical (linguistic structure) and semantic (meaning/associations of words/phrases) mechanics of codeswitching/mixing that many errors could be avoided.
