When translating measurements in yards English to French, Google
Translate picks either "yards", "verges", or "mètres", seemingly at
random.
For example, I got:
"1 yard" -> "1 yard"
"10 yards" -> "10 verges"
"100 yards" -> "100 mètres"
"An American football field is 100 yards long." -> "Un terrain de
football américain est de 100 mètres de long."
The last two, of course, are simply wrong; yards are not meters.
