When translating from English into Japanese, Google Translate offers the option of viewing the romanized reading of the characters in a word. However, when translating from Japanese into English, the romanization option isn't available.
There are times when those of us who read Japanese know what the words mean, but we still need help in remembering how to pronounce them. Since you already have the romanization module, you'd just need to work it into the JP-->Eng translation page. And while we're on the subejct of romanization, why not make a second option available for reading pronunciation in hiragana? For Japanese students, it's much better practice to read phonetically in Japanese than to read romanization. All of these things would make Google Translate a far more useful study aid than it is currently. Thanks! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
