Hello, On Aug 22nd 2010 a question was posted in regards to Google translation from English to Hebrew of certain sentences. The sentence "I can drive" was translated using the male gender. The sentence "I can not drive" - Female The sentence "I was the car" - Male The sentence "I was the floor" - Female.
Now; I don't know who writes these translatiosn but I assume that Google is aware that this kind of translation is unacceptable. as a matter of fact one of Google's employees (Xi Checng) responded that "Translation quality is the team's first priority, please stay tuned and see the incremental improvements." Well, until such changes are made I would suggest to remove the translation all together unless Google find a way to turn the clock about 300 years back where such a translation might work (and not even then if you ask my opinion). Please inform us what you plan to do about this matter as soon as possible and try to avoid politically correct answers such as the one that was provided by Xi. A true solution to this embarrassment would be nice. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
