I have been using Google Translate for years, several times per day. I am using a Mac, and Firefox as my browser.
--CUT AND COPY DOES NOT FUNCTION? I have recently had a problem cut or copy the translated text from the translator. IT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO CUT OR COPY AT ALL! How can I use the translated text if I am not allowed to cut or copy? (If I was that good at memorizing languages I would not need a translator at all!) What happened? --DISAPPEARING TEXT? Also, I have been writing longer text in the translate box, and the instant translation will spontaneously stop. Then, when I click the translate button, ALL THAT I HAVE WRITTEN DISAPPEARS! AND I CANNOT RECOVER IT! To avoid this, I am needing to copy my text periodically in order to not lose it. What happened? --NO DEFAULT MANUAL TRANSLATION? Also, I have yet to find a way to TURN OFF INSTANT TRANSLATION AS DEFAULT. There are several occasions where I do not have alot of bandwidth, and do not want every single word I type translated on the fly, risking a dropped connection. I want to be able to edit my text appropriately AND THEN translate it, as default, as I choose. It is too often assumed that everyone has a fast connection 24/7. This is not always the case. What happened? --NO MORE "FAVORITE" LANGUAGES Google Translate USED TO keep the languages you most often translated on a short drop-down menu, avoiding having to search through EVERY LANGUAGE ON THE PLANET, sorry, I do not think I will ever have to translate from or to Urdu or Azerbaijani, so having your most frequently used translations more easily accessible makes it more useful. What happened? I will say again, I have been using Google Translate for years to communicate with friends and colleagues. It WAS a INVALUABLE tool for me. It WAS great. Now it is COMPLETELY USELESS to me. What happened? Did I miss the memo that Google was completely changing its functionality?
